Angrboda Copper Shawl Pin for Handknits
A simple shawl pin in a serpentine shape.
- I have made two versions: a larger 4" or 10cm pin (the 1st 3 photos), and a smaller 3 1/2" or 9cm pin (the last 6 photos). Choose using the drop down menu
- Perfect for lace or DK weight knits, hand woven scarves or lightweight shawls
- Deeply patina'ed and then buffed back to an ombre sheen
- This piece has been cold forged and hardened by tumble polishing for many hours
Named after Angrboða, the mother of the world serpent in Norse mythology. He surrounds our world, Midgard, grasping his own tail. When he lets go, the world will end. I like to imagine this is the baby serpent that Angrboða must have nurtured into the monster he is today.
Here's what one customer had to say about this design:
"This is lovely, slim and compact but sturdy. Just what I need to keep my new coatigan closed." --Helen B., UK
All my jewellery is made by hand by my partner Mike and myself in a converted 18th century naval school on the wild North coast of Scotland. All pieces come gift wrapped.
