Treasures from the silk road: vintage Banjara embellished coin medallions given new life as earrings.

• They measure just over 2" long or 5cm
• Stones are made of howlite dyed to resemble turquoise
• There are mixed tones in the metal--from brass to silver-tone found in the metal smithing of the nomadic tribes of India 
• Choose either the triangle stone accent or oval  

I have long been inspired by the rustic metalwork of the nomadic Banjara and Kuchi tribes-- the original masters of creative re-use and colour and texture juxtaposition, using what you have to make something new and beautiful.

All pieces are made by hand or sourced with care from our home studio in Kirkwall, Orkney. Ally's designs are inspired by the wild, ancient Orkney landscape with its unique blend of Scottish and Norse culture and history.
